Republican Candidates should be given a Litmus Test with Teeth

Time to make our politicians do the will of the people. If the Republican party hopes to regain the faith and trust of its members then it must come up with a method of insuring that a potential candidate has the same beliefs as the people voting for him.  No more can be the day when a politician says one thing to get elected and then once in office they vote against the wishes of their constituents.

A great case in point is that of the recent New York - 23 District candidate DeDe Scozzafava.  The Republican party gave her $100's of thousands of dollars and never vetted her past political work, nor it appears did they discuss her political beliefs with her.  During the campaign mainstream columnists like Michelle Malkin and others called her out on her ties to ACORN and other Leftist radical groups here in the US.  People were urged instead to support Doug Hoffman which eventually forced Dede to quit.  Most disturbing was that when Dede withdrew from the race she threw her support behind the Democrat candidate thus costing the GOP an important political win.

Time to throw the socialist bums outAs you can see the need to properly vet and insure candidates that are true conservatives is important, for many reasons!  Without a 'litmus test' we can be sure that our current enemy, the army of the community organizer, will try to disperse themselves within our ranks and create dissent and possibly get elected with lies and promises of 'change'.

Republican leaders are circulating a resolution listing 10 positions Republican candidates should support to demonstrate that they “espouse conservative principles and public policies” that are in opposition to “Obama’s socialist agenda.” According to the resolution, any Republican candidate who broke with the party on three or more of these issues– in votes cast, public statements made or answering a questionnaire – would be penalized by being denied party funds or the party endorsement.

This is all fine and dandy, but it really has no teeth when your dealing with liars like Obama and the Democrats in CONgress (Republicans are no better), who will send other lying democrats in disquise to run as Conservatives.

Candidates should have to sign a contract which basically says, the RNC will provide funds and endorsement.  If when the candidate takes office they vote contrary to the 10 points they have to repay the RNC all funds given them for their campaign.

Seriously folks, lets start making these politicians accountable.  Unless the Republicans put some teeth into vetting and insuring our candidates are truly conservative, I will not vote Republican.

Obama's worthless changeAnd Mr. Obama, as always keep the change... it is after all my two cents.
