For my little Saltine Cracker

“O chestnut-tree, great-rooted blossomer, Are you the leaf, the blossom or the bole? O body swayed to music, O brightening glance, How can we know the dancer from the dance?”

A look to the future of humanity.

Share

I've long been a fan of phil in the circle.  I wrote about him in my previous emails, unfortunately he changed his format from a fun and innovative media to a more commercial look and feel.  Even so, his work is fresh and eclectic for its genre.

The Island Reef Job.  OK, this would be my dream job, wish me well as apply for this... I really really want this job!

haha, I wonder how many text messages my daughter does a month... what's amazing is these kids get straight A's and still find time to do all this texting.

These guys have a great new transportation model, a light sport aircraft called the ICON A5.  I'm excited about this, because quite honestly this very well could be the wave of the future in personal transportation.  Not only can you fly were you want, but the dang thing is cheaper than Humvee.  Now all we have to do is make it so it doesn't crash and has a midair collision avoidance system.

Two of my favorite things.  Wine and Women, a naked beautiful woman at that!  So for those of you who love wine check this out.

So your looking for contemporary, hand-crafted, innovative and exceptional jewelry.  Check out the awesome constructs of these fine artisans, over 100 Toronto Jewelry Designers showcase their designs on this website and it definitely will make you look.  One thing I want to point out, these hosers must have been drinking when they put the content on the site cuz they misspelled jewelry.  They spell it jewellery...lmao.

I've been playing games since the first apple was introduced into schools back when i was a Sophomore in High School.  I wrote a little game called shark which basically was a shark looking creature that swam around the screen eating the swimming humans.  Any way... that's nothing compared to the fun new games one can find all over the net... so check out Braid!

Need a good laugh, or maybe a good graphic artist?  Check out these two guys.  A lesson is learned is a site full of comics which are insightful and funny.

This kind of follows in step with my studies regarding the coming technological singularity.  After all one can't have all these wonderful enhancements to the human experience without some governance and ethics.  The IEET’s mission is to become a center for voices arguing for a responsible, constructive approach to emerging human enhancement technologies.  They believe that technological progress can be a catalyst for positive human development so long as we ensure that technologies are safe and equitably distributed.  I think as long as Congress and in general any government body politic stays out of it things will progress nicely.

The Future of Communication - A virtual world or a virtual reality?

Share

watch this short video to understand my following rant.: The Future of Communication

This guy makes the assumption that in the future, we will want to live in virtual worlds and that by extension this will make us gods. I'm thinking of one word here, delusional.  We have to ask ourselves is the human so misgiven to the biological experience as to desire escapism thru virtual means?  Or to ignore the fun and adrenaline rush from real life experience?  I believe a small portion of the human race prefers to hide behind the camera so to speak, but there are ten fold that number like myself that want to experience the feel of the wind in their hair as they go 150 mph on a motorcycle or plummet head first toward earth with nothing but a parachute attached to their back.

I believe the virtual world can benefit us all, as a tool for research its already being investigated for cognizance in epidemiology and group theory (haha, herd mentality!).  I believe that it will provide a medium by which all the peoples of earth can tap into a common e-mind which will eventually give us the singularity (link).  Make no mistake, a virtual world has great potential in pushing us toward a singular epoch, but it can in no way replace the biological experience, nor do i think we want it to.
