Carter to Obama, Big Government Expansionist Failure Redux

Absolutely the funniest joke ever......ON US!!! Let it sink in.

Does anybody out there have any memory of the reason given for the establishment of the DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY during the Carter Administration?

Anybody?

Anything?

No?

Didn't think so! Bottom line... we've spent several hundred billion dollars in support of an agency... the reason for which not one person who reads this can remember.

Ready? It was very simple... and at the time everybody thought it very appropriate.

The Department of Energy was instituted 8-04-1977 TO LESSEN OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL.

Hey, huh?!

AND NOW IT'S 2008, 31 YEARS LATER ... AND THE BUDGET FOR THIS NECESSARY DEPARTMENT IS AT $24.2 BILLION A YEAR and THEY HAVE 16,000 FEDERAL EMPLOYEES AND APPROXIMATELY 100,000 CONTRACT EMPLOYEES AND LOOK AT THE JOB THEY HAVE DONE!

THIS IS WHERE YOU SLAP YOUR FOREHEAD AND SAY 'WHAT WAS I THINKING WHEN I VOTED FOR OBAMA?'

Ah yes, good ole bureaucracy. And NOW we are going to turn the Banking System & the Auto Industry over to people who are dumber than a peanut farmer? God Help Us!!!!

America, Land of the Slave, Home of the Rewarded Failures

Mortgage finance giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac plan to pay more than $210 million in bonuses through next year to give workers the incentive to stay in their jobs at the government-controlled companies.

The retention awards for more than 7,600 employees were disclosed in a letter from the companies' regulator released Friday by Sen. Charles Grassley of Iowa, the senior Republican on the Senate Finance Committee. The companies paid out nearly $51 million last year, are scheduled to make $146 million in payments this year and $13 million in 2010.

Am I the only one that sees the lunacy in this? Why are the American people not marching on Washington to overthrow these corrupt sons of bitches?! The ship is sinking and these idiots are ordering lobster bisque and brandy from captain's kitchen!

These workers should all be fired or allowed to resign in disgrace for having run these companies into the ground. We should also make sure that they lose pensions and post employment benefits, let these idiots live on the meager pissant social security retirement checks like the rest of us. But No, Instead we are rewarding them for behaviors which contributed to both companies failure and led, in no small part, to our current fiscal crisis as a country.

And lest we forget how current members of our administration contributed to this failure, again, in no small part, consider what I previously wrote about Rahm Emanuel who was a member of the controlling board of governors at Freddie Mac and whose actions during his tenure on that august body directly contributed to its demise we are experiencing now. And yet, we favor this fool with ever more powerful appointments to greater positions of power within our government. Heck, Illinoisians elected this wolf in sheep's clothing to the U.S. Senate to show him their gratitude for ruining one of our premier financial organizations.

This all belies what has become an endemic problem here in America, that being we have been brain washed by nefarious organizations into believing its ok to be a failure, such that instead of losing when we fail we should be rewarded. Americans need to put common sense back in their heads instead of letting it vacation on their childrens ruined credit.

What seek you American? Freedom for a gilded cage?
